High School Graduates -
New Accession Training (NAT)
The Navy Reserve New Accession Training Program offers qualified high
school graduates an opportunity to become enlisted members in the
Navy Reserve. Candidates chosen are given the opportunity to achieve
personal and professional satisfaction in the Intelligence field by serving
in the Navy Reserve. You may be eligible for an
affiliation bonus of $20,000 for a 6 year contract.
College Graduates -
Direct Commission (DIRCOM)
The Navy Reserve Direct Commission (DIRCOM)Program offers
qualified college graduates a commission in the Navy Reserve
as an Restricted Line Officer (Intelligence) with the rank of Ensign.
Candidates chosen are given the opportunity to
achieve personal and professional satisfaction in the intelligence
field by serving in the Navy Reserve.
Returning members
Navy Veterans
  • Veterans with prior Navy experience in
    the intelligence officer designator (1630)
    and Intelligence Specialist (IS) rate
  • Recruiting Selective Conversion
    Reenlistment - Reserve (RESCORE)
    program – change of rate for closed ratings
  • Other designators are required to process
    a request for change through their local
    Reserve Recruiter.
  • Affiliation bonuses for officers of $10K
    ( O4 & below) and two-year mobilization
    deferment

  • Qualified intelligence officers and Enlisted personnel from the Army, Marine Corps,
    Air Force and Coast Guard. Transfers do not affect continuity of service or alter
